We are an independent, apolitical,
non-partisan, and non-profit association.
Established in May 2017, Pro Bono Italia ETS is the first association of lawyers, law firms, and forensic associations, for the promotion of a culture of pro bono throughout Italy.
OUR PRINCIPLES
Pro Bono Italia ETS was established in order to foster a cultural and juridical environment conductive to the development of pro bono services within the Italian legal system.
Our association has established and cultivates a constant dialogue with the forensic community, both national and international, engaged in activities of social impact.
Pro bono is a direct expression of the social function of the legal profession. It is recognized as a fundamental tool for the protection of human rights and the improvement of the legal system.
Lawyers have a professional, social and ethical responsibility to devote some of their time and expertise to the common good and access to justice for people in need.
Pro bono work makes lawyers better because it enhances their motivation, interdisciplinary skills, and standards of professional conduct.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Pro Bono Italia ETS provides free legal assistance to non-profit organizations and disadvantaged individuals, exclusively through its associates and network members, who take on the case on a voluntary basis, and according to their inclinations and specialization.
NETWORKING
Pro Bono Italia ETS cultivates dialogue and collaboration between lawyers, non-profits, clearinghouses and legal clinics, active both nationally and internationally.
Pro Bono Italia ETS periodically organizes roundtables, seminars and training events on topics of a legal, social and cultural nature, with the aim of increasing awareness of pro bono and providing constant updates to those working in this sector.
Pro Bono Italia ETS collaborates with Bar associations, law firms, non-profit organizations and legal clinics, both in Italy and abroad, to promote the approval of laws, regulations and codes, with the purpose of spreading a culture of pro bono.
